We are over the moon that our Kiltwalk Challenge has raised an amazing £5,233.43 and what a blast our teams had on what turned out to be one of the hottest day’s of the year so far.
With participants invited to take up a challenge centering around the number 21 to celebrate our 21st anniversary, by sheer coincidence 21 teams signed up for the virtual event held in April.
And in true SSF style, the creativity and enthusiasm of all the teams didn’t disappoint. From 21-minute yoga sessions to 21 mile walks culminating in 21 push-ups, cycles, and stair climbs, the effort of all our volunteers was truly inspiring.
We are extremely grateful to all the participants and those who gave so generously. Thanks to Sir Tom Hunter the money raised was topped up by 50% to reach the grand total.
"During this whole pandemic my fitness and mental health has not been the same. At first, it was okay, like working from home and chilling with the family but it got too repetitive and I am the kinda guy who likes to move about and be interactive. With the help of SSF and doing the Kiltwalk challenges with two good friends of mine I was able to get my old me back. We did complain a lot during the walk but we started it as a team and finished it as a team!”
