New ETC Module
SSF have created, in partnership with SAMH, a brand new ETC Module – Mental Health and Wellbeing in Sport and Physical Activity.
The aim of the workshop is to consider mental wellbeing in a sport and physical activity sense along with how to normalise mental wellbeing conversations within our practice.
This module is suitable for both adults and young people 16 years old and over – especially those who are looking to increase the focus of wellbeing of their organisation, community groups and/or schools. If this is something you would like to know more about, please get in touch by emailing etc@ssf.org.uk to find out more!
Wellbeing Workshops
During lockdown, 7 Wellbeing Ambassadors came together to adapt their Wellbeing Workshops so that they could be delivered online while people remained safe at home. The Wellbeing Ambassadors chose 5 topics they felt were most relevant for young people’s mental health:
- What causes Stress?
- Motivation
- Social Interactions
- What is Anxiety?
- Pressure
These workshops can now be delivered to young people aged 11-25 across Scotland. To find out more, please get in touch with Stephanie@ssf.org.uk.
Recently, SSF have been successful in funding from Glasgow Community Fund to continue to deliver both the ETC Module & the Wellbeing workshops to young people across Glasgow! With this funding we will be able to deliver to schools and communities across the city to help young people realise the positive impact physical activity & sport can have on their mental health.
The festive period should be a time of fun, family and laugher, after the many curve-balls 2020 has thrown at us. It is as important as ever to look after your wellbeing and others during the holidays. Here’s some tips from the team…
- Going for a winter walk for some fresh air and exercise
- Take time to pause and relax
- Balance out the Christmas chocolate with some fruit and veggies (sprouts optional)
- Connecting with family, friends and people that you love – even if it is through another zoom call!
