SSF Young Leaders

What is it?

SSF Young Leaders empowers young people to take on leadership roles and become positive role models in their communities across Glasgow, Fife, Stirling and North Ayrshire. Young people will be provided with opportunities to learn new skills and gain formal qualifications through sport and physical activity and put these into practice .  

What does it achieve?​

The SSF Young Leaders programme supports young people to; 

  • Develop their personal and physical skills  
  • Be upskilled to become peer-to-peer deliverers
  • Increase confidence 
  • Increase connections and contribute to the wider community

Who is the programme for?

Young people who are 14+ 

The programme is designed to support young people who wish to develop their leadership skills, have an interest in physical activity and who want to volunteer within their community.  

What will young people do on the programme?

  • Have the opportunity to attend a 2-day Introduction to Leadership residential
  • Attend “Monthly Mingles” to complete a variety of leadership training including – Disability Inclusion, Fun Games and Safeguarding
  • Complete a minimum of 2 accreditations
  • Mental health workshops
  • Personal development plans and 1-2-1 meetings
  • Volunteering

What will young people do on the programme?
